The Pentagon's 'reassure and deter' mission in Syria looks a lot like mission creep

When have our troops been sent anywhere in the modern era, and not experienced mission creep? It started in Nam.......and has been going strong in every deployment since. Mission creep is now just a fact of life. Everyone says "We won't go in, unless we have a clear objective and a defined exit strategy"..........yeah, right! This deployment has the potential to become a real mess.

Not a good idea. We will get caught between many groups that don't trust one another and some who hate each other.
