Sir,
Thank you for the read. But, once again I do not agree with some of the information. Arab spring pro-democracy? Allocate government resources?
Arab spring pro democracy uprising my butt Sir. If a country (France...) brings in a problem (Islam) it is a defacto conclusion the State will have to grow and allocate resources. I smell propaganda Sir.
LTC. Why is the American Federal government bringing into this country a problem called Islam? To create chaos? Chaos brings change Sir.
My post is not directed at you Sir. You are posting info and I am thankful for your service to our country. If I am not correct, please enlighten me how you folks where you work are thinking. If you are allowed to do so.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Most studies has it well under 1 % being supporters across the globe from what have seen. It is higher in the areas where they actually have operational elements.. but even those areas all added up are well under 1 %.... and that is Sunni. you already know about the Shia.... and no one even looks at that number...

LTC Eric Udouj - I'm no longer going to believe the Marine Corp has 10% s### birds. If the Corp can have 10%, a 7th century backwards religion/political would have more IMO Sir.
How can 1% keep the other 99% cowed and not ratting out the terror squads? Or, preachers of hate?
Thank you for your response Sir.

Mark - fear is one hell of a thing, and a mastery of social media in their propaganda effort - that is how they do it and make themselves look 100 times bigger than they actually are.

How do you defeat an enemy with no more substance than smoke? You may not see it, but you can still smell it. It's a warning that a fire is burning somewhere even if you can see the flames or feel their heat. That is Al Qaeda. One day, opportunity will knock and when we open the door, flames will burst with explosive force. We need better intelligence. That is the only key to defending against Al Qaeda. Can we ever defeat Al Qaeda? How do you defeat an idea when there are so many vehicles to keep it alive?

We get out of the Middle East and start pumping our own oil. We pull all Mid nations together in one room and put Israel at the head of the table. We then point to Israel and say "as of this day, we're pumping our own oil so we have no need/desire to be in the Middle East. Israel is now free to do and act as it feels." President Murphy would then look at the 'arabs' and say "oh and by the way...them boys gots nuclear weapons. So as you're all distant cousins (Biblical Isaac/Ishmael reference), I suggest you bitches learn how to be nice to one another. The reason they haven't nuked you in the past is because of us. And we're now leaving."

Now - just as it seems anarchy will abound...

Germany wants a leadership role in the new world (an American-less world) and they have been making in-roads to that effect. I say great. Let Merkel fly in for a fact finding, hand-shaking trip. Worst case scenario is that Germany backs Israel in a staged overthrow of the Saudi kingdom and all its oil. That would give Germany - effectively - control of all natural gas (Russia) and most of the world's oil. Germany would then be "OPEC" which would suit Europe fine. Best case scenario is that Germany becomes the new peacekeeper in the area and all body bags in Mosul, etc, have nice yellow/black/red patches on them...
