My first thoughts were, they only say this because the Navy is the odd ball using different names for the officer ranks. Also, we have enough time telling enlisted ranks from Army & Marines. Do they really think we'll be able to remember the names of the ranks of a service that is contained within the Air Force?! LOL
After that, the thoughts did occur that different names for ranks could work, but I would think they would still retain a majority of similarity to current Air Force ranks. The officer ranks may not even change that much, other than possibly renaming 2Lt and LtCol/Col.
Who knows.
