The BMI is an outdated standard. I know quite a few folks who ace the PT test, but are considered overweight by the BMI. I would take physically fit over the BMI any day of the week.

By BMI standards, The Rock is considered obese. I say medical professionals need to ditch it!

BMI should be called the BS I. I was 6'3" 230LBS and 16.7% body fat. I had to tape every PT test. Total bullshit.
Now I am a real fatty. :)

Lets face it there are people who are fit and have no performance issues. i have a metabolism that keeps Me active and the same weight for the last 40 years, 6'2" 195 and never had a problem with the PT tests ever but that is me ! I never had to be taped. There are still others of different sizes that still perform well now if You couldn't perform well then maybe there is an issue. there is a difference between being big as compared to being grossly overweight.

BMI is outdated and was questioned from the start. The Marine Corps is starting to get with the program (pun not intended), and says now if you ace our two fitness tests (literally ace them, or come pretty close) then you won't need to weigh in. Like stated above I'll take the exceptionally strong vs those who sacrifice strength in order to make weight/tape.
