Since World War Two the US Navy has not had a significant naval engagement. Where ships of adversaries duke it out on the sea. Where hundreds of sailors are lost when a ship is sunk. The US does not need to piss off a friend. This is why we have a state department with trained diplomats.

Interesting response. One would think with the recent clashes between China and India last year, yes I can remember that far back, one would think India would appreciate our showing that we can get to them if they need us.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand You Would Think So! But? There is Always a But. India Really has an Impressive Navy in their Own Right. I Got to Observe them in Action for a Year and I was Reasonably Impressed. No One wants to be Remind that they are not One of the Big Boys. No they are Not the US, No They are Not China, No they are Not Russia but I'd Put them in Fourth Place.
