Interesting but concerning share. Getting out of the treaty is one thing, that can be put back together relatively easily. Dismantling the infrastructure is quite another matter. You don't get platforms and trained technicians back at no cost.

The jets are Boeing 707's and the cameras are well past obsolete being wet film vs digital. So they would have to rebuild anyway and retrain the technicians for the modernization and the USAF has a point that Satellites are better and less costly, though I believe we should keep the planes as an option when Satellites are unavailable.

SGT (Join to see) - There are digital cameras whose unclassified capabilities would allow them to read the fine print on a cough syrup bottle from low Earth Orbit. What do you think obsolete wet film technology can do from an airplane experiencing engine vibration and atmospheric turbulence versus a digital camera operating from space, completely free of any source of vibration or turbulence?
