The Marine Corp is always planning for the next war. .War as we know it is obsolete. To remain relevant they must devise new ways and weapons because they are the tip of the spear. Thats why they started the raiders again. Otherwise they wouldn't be needed and the Army would gobble them up. In the 1930,s they were getting ready for a war with Japan New landing craft were developed and other things for an Island hopping war. After the war Truman wanted to do away with the Marine Corp but in Korea they saved south korea from becoming communist. If we would have lost the Pusan Perimeter the US. would have been driven out of korea. The 1st marine divison was pit together and sent quickly to korea. The Marines always have to prove they are an asset to keep from being disbanded. Like I said before, We are Uncle Sams Stepchildren. Semper Fi.
