"Ever since production of the first Star Wars movies in the 1970s, the visual effects industry has largely been non-unionized. But now for the first time, a group of 50 visual effects workers at Marvel Studios in LA, New York and Atlanta have signed authorization cards with the National Labor Relations Board."

I work for a union, the union protected my job here in Canada even though they don't have the employer support of the National Guard and Army Reserve like they do in the usa. I'm sure there's enough money to go around and the union will help protect their jobs and prevent them from being exploited.
