They were in contact with BDS organizations that have attacked Israel. That's not bigotry, that's common sense to keep them out.

I'm going to be blunt...leave the Israelis be. I don't know if they're always the "good guys", and I don't know if God Himself helped them take their homeland back...or if He's impartial, but I'm not going to take the chance, and I don't wish to link up with anyone who does.
I do know this...they have fought hard against a whole lot of enemies, and are one of our very few consistent allies in the region. If they have qualms about allowing a couple of ideological enemies into their country...I'm not sure I can blame them.

LCDR Joshua Gillespie close and burn down the setttlements on stolen land, every single one if them. Definenisreals borders and limit Isreali control to it defined territory. Give all the people in that territory full citizenship. That would be a start.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Such an accomplishment would require significant concessions of the part of the Palestinians towards the ensured security of the Israelis, the discontinuation of provocation on the part of the PLO and similar organizations, and most importantly...the acceptance of the permanence of the Israeli state and people as entities by the propensity of the Arab nations in the region. Your ideas "work" only so long as those new "citizens" are content to be as such.

LCDR Joshua Gillespie it would also require that continued Israeli provocations stop as well as massive over reaction to incidents.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr As I've not been there, and certainly not in the position of those making the tactical / strategic / political decisions involved...I can't defend or attack the actions of the Israelis as a whole (hence, my initial disclaimer). However, my general opinion is that if I lived in a nation roughly the size of New Jersey, and had numerous aggressive enemies living immediately across my borders...I'd find it difficult to quantify "overreaction" to any incident of attack. The simple fact is that sentiments desirous of wholesale Israeli defeat have been expressed in the past by noted Arab (Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzam, for example) and Palestinian movement leaders, and supported by numerous attempts over the years. Are there Palestinians that want to live peaceably with the Israelis? Most certainly; perhaps many, if not most. Are there Arabs who recognize, and even defend their sovereignty? The facts would seem to indicate as much. There are even Muslim Arabs serving in the IDF...which makes me wonder (among many things) whether or not the PLO, etc. limit their aims to their published goals of recognition, equality, and "peace"...or wish for darker things. For my own part, and with respect, I think many Westerners, whether in support of, or against Israel's position, are idealistic, bordering on naive when it comes to the issue of Palestine. From the Sykes-Picot treaty, and the Holocaust, to the British handling of the Zionist movement, and into the present-day, the West had a hand in creating this crisis...and continues to have a responsibility towards it. For that reason, I think it's right and proper to support Israel, financially or otherwise.
