Stationed at Kincheloe AFB in Sault Ste Marie MI. and knew this area well. Transferred out just before this incident. People don't realize how fast and how strong storms on the Great Lakes can be. Anyone traveling to Michigan Upper Peninsula should tour the Sault Locks and the memorial to this incident.
