Some of these I haven't heard. I'm old school when it comes the phonetic alphabet. Yes, that's what it is called. Foxtrot Alpha.
Because the military just loves to make things more complicated than they need to be.
In the military, we tend to pride ourselves on our efficiency. We simply don’t have time to spell everything out, so we invent an acronym for just about everything. It’s a testament to how seriously we take our time, at least when we’re not raking pine needles with pine branches, mopping the water off sidewalks when it’s raining or cutting the imaginary grass in asphalt cracks with scissors. But every once in a while, we screw it up and the acronym, or its moniker, turns out to be longer than the word or phrase we’re trying to describe. In order of ascending inefficiency, here are 10 phrases that take longer to say than what they actually mean.

I was a ground pounder in the Marines and a REMF in the Army. I have no problem with anyone who does their job and isn't an asshole.

Navy snack fund at one of the school houses at Keesler was called that. I completely forgot until I saw your comment, had to think about it for a sec. We also had the Roach Coach at Keesler which was just the food truck that made rounds. I kind of miss it, it was convenient for us tech schoolers who didn't have time to grab food somewhere else before we left for class.
