Wow! What an original idea. No, wait. I had randomly generated service numbers both as an enlisted man and as an officer. I remember both to this day (almost 50 years later). Do you remember yours (if you're an older veteran)

Of course.....it was part of your name. For me, it was 48 years ago. I don't remember where I just left my coffee cup......but I remember that number!

I do indeed remember mine, and it’s been nearly 48 years. In fact, I use it as a digital access code to my safe. It’s a number I’ll never forget, and a number no one else will ever know (except my wife and oldest son).
