I keep seeing these things and wonder how people can shoot them without protective shoulder padding. Are they not that powerful? I fired a Holland and Holland 400 Nitro Express when I was a young and strapping young man. I borrowed the owner's shooting jacket which had a shoulder pad built in. I was told to raise the muzzle to keep the sights on target as I fell forward and not fire until I had passed the tipping point. It knocked me back upright. I can't remember the specs on the weapon but its big brother, the H&H 600 Nitro Express produced 12,000 foot pounds of torque at the muzzle.

I haven't had any shoulder fired weapons yet I tried and couldn't fire but i think I'll pass on even trying this one even if I had the chance. I don't even see a practical use for anything that big and without external support very much doubt anyone could fire it from the shoulder.
