Joseph, this something that kind of winds me up a bit. I dont think people get the reason why, I dont care what your job was in the military you should do it and be the best possible what ever you are. I remember I would routinely send mechanics or cooks out to A camps deep in bad guy country. They not only had all their normal duties but now those duties were tripled. If they were cook now they had to cook order, prep etc... Not to mention they would routinely find themselves behind a gun on patrol somewhere.

So I would get spun up when I see some bullshit like this but it did not matter who you were pretending to be. I think the term stolen valor is a perfect definition. Sorry for rambling Joseph I guess it is a just a TBI rant.

Joseph mechanics wear the same uniform I did, they get just as dead if they get shot or hit with an IED.

I love that mechanic that kept that Blackhawk flying when I was medevaced out. The supply guy who ordered the damn rotors that kept it in the air. I really loved the bus driver that took me and my bags to the plane to get the f out of some of those places. One team one fight, but own your role. Be proud you had a part in the mission success.

The Army is no joke, just being in is an HONOR in any MOS. It's an adventure and there's NO need to fool others of your accomplishments, while you were in.
You know it's bad when Active or AGR soldiers add badges they didn't earn.
I'm SFC 25U/79R. I lasted 7 days out of 21 at SFAS in 1992, ouch!!! I wasn't laughing or the other 300 (soldiers). Just to get there was a lot of hard work with pain.
I almost got killed twice before getting to Ft. Bragg. Everything was against me at that point, timing means everything. Keep it Real or others will call you out!

After 2 1/2 years in the ORNG and 4 in the Army as a Forward Observer, then almost 12 in the Navy as a Aviation Electronics Technician, I can tell you, I far preferred my Navy job to my Army job. Except my recruiting time, the only part about that I liked was giving people the opportunity to improve their situation.

Don't you kinda wish sometimes it was way back in the bad old days during the Vietnam war and nobody wanted anything to with the Military!

Most people still don't. A lot just say Thank you for your service like you might say excuse me going opposite ways through a door at Walmart.

If we can get them to wear this it would help us pick them out.
