1stLt Nick S - so you were saying if you have a growler F18 flying alongside that it would not help you? I'm just concerned how do you make up for the lack of maneuverability of a multi-role fighter doesn't really designed to be a fighter? I am also referring to daytime operations. Why did they get rid of the F-117?

1stLt Nick S - thank you very much for the feedback this is stuff that I did not know about. Having a fire-and-forget missile that will do a 180 to hit the enemy is great. Any chance that the survivability of these four generation Fighters can be enhanced by using the headset technology and sensors from the F-22 and F-35 incorporated into an older plane? I would also what if some of the stuff to be put into armored vehicles once the price was down to a reasonable level?

1stLt Nick S - you already see the Dog House on the M1 Abrams tank has therefore looking infrared radar sensor and I'm sure that is hardened from maybe 12.7 millimeter impact I'm not sure? I was just hoping this Dual Purpose Optics and sensors that can be helpful to other combat systems.

1stLt Nick S - this is the forward looking infrared radar that's seen on an Abrams tank and I guess there's some protective doors that can protect those Optics.

Not sure why but it is more advanced than the F-15 E and this model is only a few years old. Maybe because the USAF already was looking for a 5th Generation fighter since the late 80s and this is a 1970s design. I think they wanted the 5th Generation due to its radar signature. Just like the the F-117 came out about in the mid 80s but I am sure this R & D was since the 1970s.

Amazing. Not only is the aircraft itself incredible, but the crews have to be top knotch as well. Hats off to the R&D team who create these and the crews who pilot them!
