Like others have commented, it's CNN and they try as hard as they can to be every modern liberal buzz point possible. I don't believe anyone enlists or commissions with the thought that their life will never be put in danger. To only see the military as a stepping stone is the product of a weak consistution in general, and a grave error in reasoning.
It's extremely easy to demonize anything over the loss of a life, but they drag the death through the mud mentioning the sadness of family without having an actual consolation for the life. People don't understand that military strategy relies heavily upon not revealing information to the enemy, sadness and loss included.
My only real point here is that people are quick to judge the military, the infantry especially, as they do police work. It's not black and white and the people who have died weren't murdered by our government or unaware of the danger of their chosen profession.
