I think the whole disagreement is that these folks are interacting with very young and impressionable children. Why not have someone who is dressed appropriately do this reading? They want to push buttons and believe the public will see things their way, that's not happening.
I have seen a drag show in Las Vegas, some of those performing you can hardly tell they are not not only men, but not the actual performer, they are so talented. Those are for ADULTS, there was nothing inappropriate about the show, no foul language or naughty actions, but they were still adult oriented, as they should have been.
