LOL chicken, I like it! I'm still curious as to what the 'correct' global mean temperature of Earth should be. It's a philosophical question...should humans even dictate what the temp should be to the other billions of life forms on the planet? What gives US the right? If the plants could talk (and the vegans stopped killing and eating them), they would ask for more CO2 please, 85 degrees and high humidity. No freezing temps at all, thank you.

SFC Peter Krarup - Yes, the exception is true, but the rule remains...plants love warmth. Compare the lush diversity of life in a tropical jungle vs the steppes of Canada or Russia.

Col Joseph Lenertz - COL, if you like apples & pears, you're going to have to like a hard frost. Oranges & other citruses, not so much. FWIW, the adage of "the exception proves the rule" is nonsense. If there's an exception to the rule, the rule is wrong. Certain plants need certain conditions, depending on their agricultural zone. Certain seeds need extreme heat to trigger growth, which is why forest fires are necessary to clean out the forests and get new growth. Nature abhors a vacuum and has developed through evolution ways to ensure continuity. I'm sure G_d has had a hand in it as well.
