Thanks for sharing the photographic history of what occurred on December 16 Maj Marty Hogan Significant to me:
1. 1773: Boston Tea Party. "In Boston Harbor, a group of Massachusetts colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians board three British tea ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor. The midnight raid, popularly known as the “Boston Tea Party,” was in protest of the British Parliament’s Tea Act of 1773."
In modern eyes impersonating Mohawk Indians to commit a crime would be cowardly and a violation of the heritage of Indians :-)
2 1971: "Pakistani Army Surrenders at Dhaka. Gen. Jagjit Singh Aurora (left), Chief of Staff of the Indian Army, and Lt. Gen. Assan Ali Khan Niazi of the Pakistani Army sign the papers that would end the war between the two countries and lead to the creation of Bangladesh."
A lot of fighting took place in south Asia between 1947 and 1971 as Muslim-majority Pakistan was initially separated form Hind-majority India and then in 1971 as Bangladesh was created as separate from both Pakistan and India.
