Thanks for sharing significant events of December 18 Maj Marty Hogan
1912: The Piltdown fossil hoax: Fossil collector Charles Dawson reports to the Geological Society of London his discovery of supposed early human remains at a gravel pit in Piltdown. (More than four decades later, Piltdown Man was exposed as a hoax.)
Charles Darwin may well be rolling in his grave since he expected his theory of evolution to be proven with millions of examples of transitory species fossilized remains to confirm his theory of macroevolution. The fossil record includes no such record which led to the 20th century theory of punctuated equilibrium.

Great stuff. Verdun...wow. My grandfather fought in France during WWI and NEVER talked about it. Horrible stuff. Interesting the two slides about Japan back-to-back...invade Hong Kong and admitted to the UN. Thanks for posting, Maj Marty Hogan .
