Do you have room for the baby Jesus?
........God asks us to hold this baby in our arms to protect and shelter and nurture and care for. And the whole time we are holding this baby, this baby is holding us. For He IS the Salvation of the world. He IS Emmanuel, God with us. If we are fortunate enough to be able to hold a baby in our arms, we can be reminded that God came to us as a little child to bless and save us. Personally, any chance I get to interact with a baby, my heart is warmed and nourished with the spirit of God and Jesus. Most of you know that I found my faith in this little church some forty years ago as a broken alcoholic. I still attend AA meetings and support young people in recovery, most of whom have babies. If the parents get sober, those babies will have a chance at a decent life. At the close of one of those meetings, a young mother was standing next to me in our closing circle with her baby as we said the Lords Prayer. The baby reached out for my hand and held my little finger for the entire prayer. I was moved to tears because I knew for certain that God was speaking to me through that baby.........
Our Pastor was away this Christmas with his grandchildren so I got to sub today in Church. Here's a snippet of my message referring to babies and "Recovery."

As a child of a Korean combat veteran, who became an alcoholic, physically, and verbally abusive during my entire childhood. However I found GOD early on, thanks to our mom, who at times ensured hell here on earth. Because of the example of what not to do with ones life, I don't drink, have a wonderful marriage currently at 43 years, with two outstanding children, both special needs, but an awesome gift from GOD. Upon completing three tours, over eight years, college, an amazing career in law enforcement which included two presidential security team, and one vice presidential security team, and memories that will last my life time, all because of the most awesome birth for mankind, Our Savior LORD Jesus. This story that you cited touched my heart, and for this, I am sincerely thankful. GOD Bless.

Thank you for sharing. This week, the cousin of baby Charlie, also 1 was left in the mother's car overnight in frigid weather. She woke in the morning not knowing where her baby was. He is in the hospital with frost bite and edema. Please pray for Silas and certainly for the mother who is facing serious charges. The baby is in State care.
