I want to know the implications of the Marines getting rid of all the tanks and most of the artillery. The Marines want to work in small groups and focus on protecting ships.

What happens if we need to conduct sizable amphibious operation? What happens to the Marines if the Army is spread out in two major campaigns. The Marines will watch from their ships or vantage point as the Army slugs it out?
