Great song/images!
Checked w/friend in Pasadena and he & family are OK. No PLF required w/aftershocks always pending.
While living in SJ, got through 89's Loma Prieta OK and some smaller ones; however, hard to convey to others what it's like trying to hang 10 on 6+ seismic/sine wave.
Some of the FABs I worked in had a seismic shutdown device that when triggered would ensure the "TGO" (i.e., toxic) and flammable gas cylinders shut down (w/Level A protective suits available just in case). Each year the FD Hazmat folks required that the device be tested in their presence to ensure it actually worked. Basically had to womp it with a mallet to simulate a seismic event.
