Tornadoes | Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM)

I was struck with a sense of irony as I received an email from Virginia announcing that today is Tornado Preparedness day in Virginia. It reminded me of a Duffle Blog post but it was meant to be serious.
I am staying in a one level home in a relatively flat area and thought it humorous as I read the instructions to go to a safe place in the event of a tornado. I have lived in areas where tornados hit for a long time.
I related what we used to say in the cold war in the event of a nuclear strike. Put your head between your knees and kiss your ass good-bye.
I recognize that tornadoes can be terrifying.
