Hi folks. I don't intend or expect to sway anyone but I'll add a couple cents here. I am an openly serving trans person. That most people know. What many don't know is that I have been aware of my gender identity since I was 8 years old. I grew up with both of my parents. I grew up in a Christian family. I was closeted through my entire youth but the feelings never changed. Research is showing more and more that trans people often habe inclinations of who they are at an incredibly young age. Science is finding that gender identity is likely formed in the womb, between weeks 15-20 of pregnancy. What happens to people like myself is unclear. What we do know is that it's not something you can counsel, pray or zap out of a person. Prior to coming out and transitioning I had worked through counseling, both secular and within the church.
I know this young ladies family. They are incredibly supportive of their daughter, but it's her who is the outspoken activist. She cares for kids like herself who can't be themselves. She hurts at the hate our community faces and hopes that her visibility can change it. Of course she says it in a 9 year old way. It's the heart she has.

It's also about cowardly parents shirking their responsibility to guide their children through their confusing days, when Puberty begins. Only so.e sick adult would tell a child that they can be whatever sex they feel like. So what if God created you as a girl, if you feel like a boy, then be a boy. I feel so sorry for children today.

LCpl Cody Collins - A member of RP wrote that the little girl is the one pushing this so other kids her age might be more accepting. I've been a Christian all my life. I'm not gay, LGBT, or any other name besides straight, but I'm tired of the LGBT community constantly being looked down on, or hateful things said against them. I don't know how they feel when their body is telling them they are different, but it's not a normal part of growing up. I don't know where you got that, but that's wrong? I have three sons and a daughter and none of them felt different feelings about their body. It's a fact this is normal. I used to not agree with it, and thought it was sick, but I don't feel that way anymore about transgenders. I don't agree with the gays, male or female, but being a transgender isn't something dirty or nasty. It's a feeling we will never understand, but we have to accept that it's normal to a transgender. They're here. They aren't hiding anymore. That's the way it is whether we agree with it or not.

Believe me as a 9 year old, when it came to my body. I was at a loss as to why certain things were happening. Thank God for a older brother who explained things to me.SGT (Join to see) -

LCpl Cody Collins - When I was nine I was kicking ass and taking names. I had no problem identifying myself. Sorry you did LCpl Cody Collins .

I think you misunderstand me. What I'm talking about is as a 9 year old and your penis get hard for the first time and for no reason. That is Confusing . And as time went on girls went from being yucky to smelling nice and finding them pleasant. My brother explain to me why it was happening. He didn't twist my mind and say garbage like " maybe your gay " like these twisted parents are doing these days. Now kids are being told in school it's ok to be Gay or LBGT , so yes a child can be confused very quickly in this day and time. Much prayer is needed for our CountrySGT (Join to see) -

Bad taste in my mouth, using a kid like this, Keith. They couldn't have found an adult trans person? This smacks of manipulation and is just not fair to the kid.

This isn't fair to the child. Her parents seem to have been understanding as she has reached age nine, but putting her out there for all types of people to see her, isn't being responsible parents.
