Well, for starters, it was Congress who did not appropriate enough funds, and then the GSA is being the responsible party and saying simply that until we have the money for this IN HAND, we will not start the project. (WOW a real grown up attitude) If things have gotten that bad, it did not happen last week, it should have been addressed years ago, but that would not fit the bill to blame Trump. and most of us have worked in buildings that were substandard, and we just make the best we can of this or that.
I see why some people are putting this at Trumps feet, because, as the President, the buck stops on his desk, I understand that, even agree with it to a point, but in this case, it was a Govt office (the GSA) exercising fiscal responsebility and not starting something that they may not be able to finish, or get so deep into then need an emergency funding to finish it.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - from both sides, I am sad to say, and SOMETIMES POTUS can be the cause of something behind the scenes, but in this case, the fault is entirely on Congresses lap, They did not write a check big enough to cover this project and Mr Trump did not even get a say yes or no.
A few people think it is possible that it is because of Mr Comey, and with our current sitting Congress (again, both sides) I will not completely rule the possibility out, but if it is the case, it is NOT from the White House.

Good. The plan was flawed to begin with. If they want to be serious, get the HQ out of the DC metro area. (real estate and cost of living is too expensive) In this day and age, we don't need federal agencies in the "beltway," when everything is done via VTC anyway. There can be a small office complex for the most senior adminstrators in Fairfax or Prince William County, but the main complex can be moved to a more financial friendly area. (How about Detroit, Memphis, St. Louis?) Think about what that would do for those economies and how much that would save taxpayers in cost of living adjustments, alone.

A portion of DHS was moved to Wilkes Barre PA. I had to make a six-hour each way trip there (up on Monday early morning, back Friday). No VTC for me then. However, that changed when supporting folks overseas.

Disappointing but understandable as the government is deeply in debt. Hopefully this is not retaliation for Comey and FBI investigations in to the administration. Although it looks like Congress is the guilty party this time since they just can't seem to figure out how to fund anything except the DOD.

Care to support your statement with facts?
Is it your position the President does not have Professionals on his staff (IOW he has a use for them and supports them)
Is it your position the President is not working towards putting Professionals on the VA staff (IOW he has a use for them and supports them)

I am concerned that PO1 William "Chip" Nagel is 100% on target about that. But, CDR (Join to see) has a point about the debt issue. Remember, though, that fixing the debt issue was a campaign promise. How far ahead is POTUS on that?
