I was working within the IC at the time these investigations were going on and what was clear to me and my peers was that we would have been placed in jail had we done the same thing. Furthermore, the State Department has admitted it happened, and officially stated:

"There were 2,093 email chains on the server that were retroactively marked as classified by the State Department as "Confidential," 65 as "Secret," and 22 as "Top Secret.""

The FBI investigation reported the following:

- More than 2,000 of the 30,490 emails Clinton turned over to the State Department contained classified information, including 110 emails in 52 email chains that contained classified information at the time they were sent or received. (Most emails were retroactively deemed to contain classified information by the U.S. agencies from which the information originated.)
- Some of the emails containing classified information “bore markings indicating the presence of classified information,” contrary to Clinton’s claims that none was marked classified. Comey did not provide a specific number.
- “[S]everal thousand work-related emails” were not turned over to the State Department in 2014, but were recovered by the FBI. Comey said “three of those were classified at the time they were sent or received.”
- Comey also stated of Clinton and her staff “were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”

And that's just what they found from what wasn't deleted. God only knows what more was out there.

I know you're probably working that revisionist history in order to support a Clinton run in 2024, but this is not something that should go away. At a minimum, her willful negligence in the storage, mishandling, and illegal use of a non-government server for 100% of her official business should bar her from any government position. But no, "rules for thee, not for me," right?

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin - If they were so classified then why no charges? Republican Comey could have easily bought charges. Also, Trump made a campaign promise to lock HRC up for those emails. Remember that??? The emails must have not been important enough or maybe they really were NOT classified. As for the decision by Comey not to indict. You do realize prosecutors choose not to go through with cases all the time right. By your logic, I suppose you then believe Trump is 100% not guilty of collusion and making personal deals with heads of state right?

You can point to Comey’s decision all you want but that does not change the facts.

Fact 1 - Hillary did in fact have a server built to facilitate all of her Dept of State email. That by the way goes against the Clinger Cohen Act, not to mention the serious disregard for the rules on records management, storing official records, and the management of classified information. Just because Comey decided not to prosecute (despite his own words describing it as gross negligence) does not mean she didn’t do it.
Fact 2 - The Clinton team did in fact destroy and wipe hard drives they were told to maintain and turn over by the court.
Fact 3 - both the Dept of State and the FBI each officially confirmed those servers did in fact contain several classified documents, including confidential through Top Secret information, SAP, and that which was even transcribed to avoid producing documents with classification headers.

Now, regardless of whether the FBI chose to prosecute or not, those facts still stand and they a inexcusable. Clinton got away with it through legal channels and then subsequently she lost in the election. So while you enjoy reveling in her ability to avoid getting prosecuted for something you and I would surely be placed in jail for, I get to revel in the fact that enough of the American people voted against her for President.

Getting back to your original post, yeah, what Trump might have done is not the same thing.
