I dont buy ANY politician's pan to defeat ISIS because ISIS, isnt a country, has no borders, no uniforms and fights an asymmetrical fight, and more important ISIS is more like fighting an ideology and not a fighting force. Its an over simplification to say "we're going to defeat/bomb/crush/destroy ISIS", and I cringe anytime I hear someone say this.

ISIS is a virus that is spreading all over the world and the worlds efforts have so far yielded very little in terms of actual results, if anything i would say that our actions and the have made our relationship with the Islamic world a bit more strained. I am not a strategist by any means, and the only thing I strategist well is my weekly meal prep, but I would think that efforts need to be made to repair American relations and perception with the Middle east to curb the hatred and mistrust that breeds groups like ISIS. How exactly thats done, I dont know, but I do know that it would not be an overnight thing, but a plan that would stretch out over generations. I'm not saying that fighting should stop, but we have to think about fighting groups like ISIS on other fronts, running in parallel what we've been doing

TSgt (Join to see) my point is more towards the national building aspects of his comments where we have been less than stellar over the past decade or so.

“With guns you can kill terrorists, with education you can kill terrorism.”
― Malala Yousafzai

Of course both weapons and education play a factor in our current conflict. To defeat ISIS and terrorism, we need the combined efforts of many nations, for combating and further prevention.

SrA Edward Vong this commonly held thought has borne varying levels fruit in our current conflicts. Are we creating terrorism through our presence?

Apparently would has been thus far has failed miserably. We have been protecting the oil for a long time. Iraq has made a mess of itself far as keeping the oil safe. We should of never went into Iraq because they had nothing to do with 9-11. We are in a mess for all the missteps that have been made by carrier politicians. We need first to get our own house in order. This is a war on ideology that goes all the way back to Abraham. We will never be able to solve this problem. But it can be detained and monitored. We can also be more vigilant on who we allow in are country. We can have sealed borders and trade with other countries. The days of open borders has ended due the terrorism in the world. If we do not end open borders we will be living in a lawless country. This is the second time I have read a article written to troops that skew the story to one side. I do not know who is pulling the strings, but it does seem as if someone or group does not want any of this to change. I have one question how can you hold one candidates feet to the fire when they have not to this point received any of the information that the other has been privy too. Every candidate for president has great ideas until they take office and see what little control they have.
