That will be hard to implement.
The Veteran will still need to apply in order to make sure that they get the benefit in a timely manner.
Relying on the system to do it for you is... a mark of faith that I do not share.

Don't know the details, but I think cancelling debt is a bad policy. It can be greatly abused. What should be done, is to give scholarships for approved studies paid directly to the institution under a negotiated fee schedule.

Thankfully they are pushing for removing the taxing of the loan payoff amount. That was what I was worried about for anyone who would qualify.
