The title of the article sums the situation up....... Mistakes. He mistook the situation. It happens. I hope this doesn't get piled on top of all the other stupid shit going on in this cycle.

Perhaps in vocally demonstrating for their cause or plight they were mistaken for protestors against DT. This does not seem unreasonable if they were causing a disturbance and disrupting the rally in the process of bringing attention to their situation, no matter how good or noble.
