'The vetting process already takes roughly 2 years. I don't know how you can get more extreme than that other than barring people from selected and predominantly Muslim countries.

God forbid, we were to offend anybody in the name of security. Ever ask yourself if you have ever heard about a Christian trying and drive a VBIED through your front gate? Ever heard of a Jewish terrorist training camp? When was the last time you seen a Baptist beheading video? Quacks like a duck it is probably a duck. While not politically correct it does not make it any less true that there are Muslims extremist that what to do us harm and have no problem coming here to do it. These people are the ones that make it known to all that they are killing in the name of Allah. Not in the name of a country, but for a deity. While religion should not play a part in deciding who ultimately is received into this country, the region where radical terrorist live, recruit, and train should have just a smidge more investigating to ensure that they are who they say they are. If a guy is from Afghanistan and he wants into this country I would think he would understand the extra scrutiny. I mean he is probably leaving his country because of all the terrorist there.

Being that the majority of terrorist attacks since 9/11 have been by our own citizens, with some of the perpetrators being or claimed to be radicalized Muslims, I'm more worried about the people (Muslims) that are already in this country that will be targeted and harassed more due to these recent events than refugees coming from overseas. You want radicalized Muslims? These policies are how you get radicalized Muslims.

VBIED? Did you forget about the Oklahoma City Bombing?

Interestingly enough, Saudi Arabia isn't on the list of temporarily banned countries.. Even though the majority of the 9/11 hijackers were from there. Hmmmmm.....

SPC Semanko posted an article on DHS failing to vett Syrian immigrants. Well which is it? http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2017/01/feds-blame-lapse-vetting-admitting-syrian-refugees-terrorist-ties-u-s/ Sorry, it was Syrian refuges not Somalia. The State Department was not allowed to review the social media of the wife and coshooter in San Bernardino.

Not a bad article. The only thing I would change would be beginning every sentence with, "They are supposed to". I have a sneaking suspicion that the 20,000 or so immigrants from countries with ISIS ties probably did not get the special treatment they were required to get. Just remember they guy in charge of this country said things like, your heath insurance premiums were going to go down, he was going to pull us out of Iraq, going to close Getmo, and was going to be the most transparent of any administration. He may have stretched the truth on every one of those promises. I am saying given the history of our past President not actually doing any of the things he said he would do, he may have fibbed just a little on how well he made sure these people were "checked out" before allowing them into the land of milk and honey.
