Since Hillary got an extension on CGI information of 27 months, why not Trump?

Interesting. Hillary's appointment calendar won't be released until after the election, but she wants to see Trump's tax return?

Apples and Oranges. She has released her tax returns, now it is his turn to do the same. If he wants to see her appointment calendar, then he should release his own.

That's false equivalency. It is 50 year tradition that major party presidential candidates release their tax returns Donald Trump is bucking that tradition. There are no excuses for Donald Trump not to release his tax returns.

The problem with releasing a tax return of a Corporation over a Billion Dollars in value is that 75-80% of Americans are not going to understand it due to the complexity and they will rely on 2nd or 3rd party interpretations some from licensed CPA's others from licensed lawyers (who will make mistakes in interpretation not knowing the details). The IRS generally is really not that sharp when it does an audit, it does not assign it's sharpest people unless they are sure there is something that might result in a criminal charge. And the IRS will redirect and prolong the audit based on public comments by people attempting to interpret the returns. IRS will bounce from public issue to public issue ad nauseum and the audit will become more political than professional So it is a good strategy to wait until after the Audit is over in my view. I would do the same if I were in his shoes wait until the Audit is over then release to the public.

SGT Edward Wilcox - Mr. Trump is running a C Corp which means his personal return will be looked at in conjunction with the C-Corp. I'll let you figure out why that is so since I don't know how the IRS operates. BTW, I think you just helped me prove in part that most Americans do not understand the complexity here.....thanks for the assist.

My father and my ex-wife both had their own businesses. They were both run as Sole Proprietorship, which is NOT the same thing as a C-corp. If you read the letter, you would see that there is no mention of corporations. They are run "almost exclusively through sole proprietorship". The closest type of corporation to a sole proprietorship is an S corp. But, since there is no mention of any corporations, I doubt he is incorporated at all.

I think, judging by your comment, that you, and not I, are the only person here who has no understanding of the complexity here, or the lack thereof. You also have no understanding of the different types of corporations or, it would seem, basic business principles.

Not quite. I think your almost there though. He is too large by Asset size to be S Corp. His subsidiary companies are setup as LLC's, He would be exceedingly stupid to setup his main Parent company as a Sole Proprietorship as large as it is too inflexible a structure for such a large company. So that leaves LLC (highly likely), Partnership (not likely either because of structure), or C-Corp. LLC or C-Corp, C-Corp is more rigid than LLC and LLC you can declare the taxing entity. Between the two it does not matter for the point being made because the same concept / point applies, they have to look at both the LLC as well as his personal stuff. LLC is a lot harder to audit than a C-Corp and much more complex but eliminates double taxation. LLC allows you to declare taxing entity each year. So the Lawyer is referring to declared tax entity not company structure.

CPL Shawn Lawson - No people are just mad about the election. I think he is just another frustrated voter. It's a pretty crappy choice this year, can't blame anyone for being mad.
