PFC (Join to see) - I don't give a hoot about Amazon. Amazon is not a government Agency. Amazon is not the one losing $2.1 BILLION a quarter; the United States Postal Service is....
In 2016 the US Government spent $552 BILLION dollars MORE than it took in. The United States Postal Service lost $2.1 BILLION dollars in ONE fiscal quarter. That works out to about $8 BILLION a year. That is about $24.24 for every person living under the same roof as you.
Budget's (household, corporate, municipal, state or federal) are rarely set right by one blinding glimpse of the obvious. Somebody with an eye for detail and a can of "whoopass" saves a half a percent here, one percent there, etc. etc. etc.. Then Viola!!! (not so suddenly) all of the sudden the budget is out of the red.
If President Trump spent one day a week, 50 weeks a year, getting agencies to improve their bottom line (i.e. the Post office breaks even); in less than 18 months, the government would operate in the black. Now I know that is a gross oversimplification of reducing government spending. But $8 Billion dollars of low-hanging fruit is worth the President's attention and IS one of the better things for him to deal with.

Maj John Bell well there is enough waste going on more then enough our branch of the government is responsible for but that being said most of the 2.1billion lost has been a combination of trying to keep low cost shipping as well as competition from private expedited services like FEDEX and UPS. We need USPS.

PFC (Join to see) - Agreed, so I find your comment "Really you'd think he'd have better things to deal with?" incongruent with your comment "...We need USPS."
