I will always believe this was a double standard in the treatment of this old man, and when he carried on with "we might have to kill him" and he "enjoyed it", this world would've stopped on it's dime had this been reversed, and it should. But justice wasn't done. His age should never have played a factor, and he should've spent time quality time behind bars. The victim took the high road, and in that I feel proud. I feel through him there is hope. No violence, just an understanding. But there definitely would be a side bar when the camera wasn't there with him knowing there will never be a round two.

What a load of horse chit. That old man should have been arrested on the spot. That kid did way more than the high road, he showed who was the real man in this incident.

He should not have gotten off as easy as he did but the reality is that for a simple assault what would have actually happened? Not much. We cannot and do not keep serious offenders in jail for long. This was likely to have a time served sentence which is not unusual for this type of offense.
It both agreed to this then I have no issue with it. I think it is more of the symbolism over substance outcome everyone likes to warm their heart but never really gets to the heart of the matter.
Why would someone show up to a political rally of someone they do not like to scream and yell and try to disrupt and why does someone else think it is okay to punch him in the mouth. The reason, to me, is pretty simple. A complete lack of respect for others in our society. We have and continue to ingrain this in our society today. The violence we pump out, the fake badassery we put out and the general disrespect you see everywhere reinforces it.
