When in my early 20’s, just out of electronics school, I was learning 2 way radio repair. A man that taught me things was a radio repairman who was in the Tuskegee Airman. He had a Piper Cub. I was young and really didn’t understand what he was talking about when he mentioned them. I know now. Some of them, including him were from a nearby town of Sewickley, Pa. I believe there is a memorial there for them.

Supposed to be largest memorial to them in the country. Just looked it up. Don’t know how to post the newspaper write up

I recall watching a video of Tuskegee Airmen being interviewed. They talked about tactics with great animation. They talked about the P-51with great reverie. It was as they talked, the perfect fighter for them.
