I love these stories.
A 16-year-old teenage boy in Pemberton Township nearly got away with armed robbery on Saturday, but was foiled by some U.S. Army Federal Reserve soldiers.
Soldiers from the 372nd Military Police Company out of Cumberland, Maryland, prevented the attempted robbery of a CVS Pharmacy near Fort Dix in Pemberton on Saturday, Dec. 12, the Fort George G. Mead Public Affairs Office said on Thursday.

I thought it was great, i just wish the kid could get help. He has all those charges ( i know he deserves them) and I feel as if his future is now ruined because of it. 16 and no life, that is really horrible.

Capt Seid Waddell - Doesn't matter to me, everyone deserves rehabilitation- the thing prison's are supposed to do, but the majority of them fail to accomplish.

SGT Jose Perdelia-Torres, I don't believe prisons rehabilitate; they seem to be training facilities for criminal careers instead.
I agree with you that this kid's life is over before it started, but that is most likely the product of a lousy upbringing and associating with the wrong element.
The only thing I have heard of that seems to work is diversion into one of the many programs that change their world view into something more constructive like this one:

The important thing is to challenge them and replace their bad habits and dysfunctional environment. Kind of like Boot Camp erases civilian ways of thinking and way of life into a more disciplined, constructive, and useful lifestyle.

Extremely happy that these guys were able to be of help to the community as well as bring a criminal down with minimal use of force. I hope that crook will get a chance to turn his life around before he does something even more stupid.
