I have met Heather Wilson on several occasions: when she was on active duty, when she was a junior Congress Person, and four years ago when she was running for the US Senate. She will make an excellent Secretary of the Air Force. She is literally everything that Secretary James was not. An Academy Graduate, with a distinguished military career, experience in Congress and knows how to get things done!

It looks like Ms Wilson has good qualifications for the job. SECAF is concerned with the "train and equip" mission of the Air Force instead of daily operations, which falls to the combatant commanders. She will be involved in the F-35 controversy and need to make sound business decisions on the future of that program. President Trump is interested in the F-35 program, so it will have to be high on her list of things to work.
