US appeals court keeps California assault weapons ban in force

The 9th Circuit Court en banc decision is not really surprising considering that the 9th Circuit is the most-overruled of all the circuit courts and the majority at the 9th Circuit have never seen any anti-gun law they didn't love.

What is surprising is how blatantly that majority panicked and threw out their own rules and procedures to jump into this case so they could make their extraordinary ruling. It is also surprising that several of the judges went on record in dissenting opinions that call out the majority both for ignoring the Supreme Court ruling and for the unprecedented way the case was heard at all.
