With more than half of America reluctant or flatly opposed to getting a COVID-19 vaccine, a VIP-filled video call on Thursday targeted the nation’s military families with an urgent plea: Get the shot
“We need your help,” first lady Jill Biden told hundreds of listeners on a call set up by Blue Star Families ”That’s why we’re encouraging everyone to mask up, socially distance and get the vaccine when it’s your turn.”
The call featured detailed medical explanations from Dr. Anthony Fauci the nation’s top infectious disease expert, who answered questions from the audience, as well as urgings from Army Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and his wife, Hollyanne, who is a nurse. Their pleas underscored the widespread concern about the reluctance among service members and their families to get the vaccine.

I have responded to like posts before- when the government blows an inordinate amount of sunshine up your ass to do something and tell you how great it is and will be... I throw the bs flag. I will refer federal technicians to the change over from the CSRS pay system to FERs and how it would make our lives so much better. And today's troops I will simply state Blended Retirement System. Now there will be some here that begin to bash me because I am not posting a FB meme to back what I say. I will begin with I have been a federal tech for 37 years- half of those as a finance person and the last 9 as a medical officer. I spent nine month working Iowa's response to COVID developing FHP guidance for our troops and testing efforts, I also read the science behind the masks and vaccinations. I will get mine to set a standard- but I do not believe the vaccination will stem the spread nor prevent the virus at the success rate advertised. I am not afraid of the vaccine, but I have had so many shots injected into me over my career....what's another?
I will also leave this- you sign an agreement you won't have any recourse with the manufacturer...do not in any stretch of the imagination speak to me how I should blindly trust a government that gives less than two shits about the people that serve them. My opinion Chip- I wear my mask- I will get my shot, but hold no one else to the same standard on this.

100% agreement on this. Congress passed a law that allows new Rxs to be marketed with less stringent standards than previously required. I'm leery about any drug "invented" after 2009.Aaaaaaand, I know I'm not the only puke who had to take and retake shots, get "boosters," and be ordered to take shots that I questioned. Veterans were in some of the very first human tests and it was played like they were the most important people and that's why they got it first. We're cheaper than mice because they don't have to buy us or feed us. Count on the US military (active or not) and we come running

Well, for months the media and the Left pounded home the idea that Trump's "rushed" vaccines would be terribly flawed and maybe killers. It was just a few months ago the present veep was saying she would not take it. It's no wonder so many are now ambivalent.

I think its impressive how the left and politicians on both sides belittle military members but when they are scared or need something they always call us. No I will not get the shot until I know every politician has. Or when I am dam good and ready. They cannot have it both ways. Oh Trumps shot will kill you then beg me to get it

MSG Greg Kelly - Actually, the problem here in Missouri (one of them, one that got caught), was all the Democrat law makers in Jefferson City sneaking down to the hospitals and using their positions to jump the lines when only health care workers were supposed to be getting vaccinated. The same Dems bad-mouthing "Trump's flawed vaccines" for months. Stone asshole hypocrites without a shred of shame. I swear, it is getting to the point where when I find someone is a Democrat, I find I'm looking close to decipher if they are plain evil or just retarded.
