Our reluctance to shoot their missles out of the sky is how we got here. Both China and Russia are wondering if our system even works. In fact I wonder the same thing. Perhaps we have been sold a defense system that doesn't work to protect us from a threat that does not exist. If the threat does exist, we could be in trouble.

maybe with that added knowledge the Russians might rethink their support for fat boy

The Russians, like the Chinese want to see our defense shoot down something. If it turns out we can't that will be felt all of the way to Crimea. If it does work then Kim gets clubbed across the head and they get to whine about our aggression
