US military ordered to begin planning to withdraw about half the troops in Afghanistan

I guess we will see, one, if it happens and 2, what happens next.

I had just arrived in Kandahar when this came out, needless to say I didnt see it from TAAC-S HQ.

It appears, we are not leaving. But drawing down. Which is a good thing IMO. I suspect, a regrouping is needed as the Talban will not make peace and the Afgan government can not control the narrative. Possibly, unable to defeat the enemy without our help. So, let's regroup on better terrain, support our allies in the northwest and bleed the enemy.
