US military power comes from more than just the defense budget

Military Power comes from the commitment to preserve our government and our way of life that 99% of our military has.

It is not only new technology that improves the military. Doctrine and how we design fighting in the future plays a large role. Blitzkrieg is a great example. Their doctrine of using armor, mechanized vehicles, and planes in a combined arms lightening attacks allowed them to quickly defeat various nations quickly. The advent of long range hypersonic missiles will change doctrine. Imagine an incoming missile 10 miles out. We would have 10 seconds to shoot it down. Can the Phalanx shoot down a Mach 5 missile?
