I enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1959. Their weren't any hot protracted wars going on at that time, but 2n tank Bn. was on standby. We left a Plt. of tanks at Getmo. Bay when castro took over. I was on Okinawa and the 3rd marine Division was on standby all the time. The Cuban missle crisis and the Berlin Wall also kept us on our toes. I would do it all over again. Unfortunately I was in the Army when I went to Vietnam. I crossed the Pacific ocean three times by ship. The MSTS Sultan once and the MSTS Mann twice. Semper Fi.
