It has rarely, if ever, gone well for us in the long run when we choose a side in a mid-east conflict and arm them. Like the song asks: When will they ever learn? Oh, when will they.....ever learn?

Sometimes its just simple capture. The right people got the right stuff, got killed and the bad guys took their weapons and gear. Other times, the right people got the right stuff and then the good guys became the bad guys (OBL). Other times, the right people got the right stuff, conflict ends and they sell the stuff to neutral people who then turn right around and sell it to the bad guys in a new conflict.

Now having said that, a control can be added that stuff shouldn't be sold to areas/folk that we have no intention/business of getting involved with, but then that would require smarter voting from Joe and Jane Sixpack. After all, like has been said, CIA/NSA/MI6/Mossad/KGB all LIVE for these moments. And their budgets all come from the ballot box.

I think part of the problem is that the u.s. and allies, having funneled so much weaponry into that's theater, handing it over to questionable groups which eventually defected to Isis.

If we get down to it at the molecular level - they're all Muslim. So at some point in time they will be our enemy. Even good old - 9/11 - Saudi Arabia.

Geez- we have reached the point where official Russian propaganda is being passed along on a US military oriented website. Of course the Russian MOD would like everyone to think that the SDF is in cahoots with ISIS. It's their justification for bombing the anti- Assad forces in addition to the occasional ISIS target.
