Senate pushes for expansion of VA Choice

People this program is 100% worthless for at least for people here in The salt lake City Utah area.Point in case, I had been trying to get spine surgery through the Va, they kept refusing me the surgery and I finally asked to go through this program. I was told to choose a facility and I chose McKay Dee Hospital spine care in Ogden. My doctor was Dr Bangerter. It took me 4 months to get the appointment and by then My MRI was out dated so I was sent back to get a new one, I requested the new one to be put on a disc and went back two weeks later only to be told by the Dr that the MRI I was given was the 1st one and needed the updated version. By the time the VA got around to giving me the proper disc, Mckay Dee had decided it had had enough of the VA and closed its doors to Vets. I was the Very last Vet to be treated at this facility. Next I have a foreign object in my finger that needs surgery so I again requested to use this program and was called a few days later by the Va who told me I had an appointment at a DR In West Jordan Utah, 5 minutes later the clinic in W Jordan calls me and tells me there has been a mistake and that because of the Va Screwing up so much they too will no longer see Vets. 4 weeks later I get a call from the Va wanting to know why I didnt make the appointment and knew nothing of this clinic turning away Vets. It seems to be a joke at this point.

My local VA is an outpatient clinic so it doesn't have a lot of those services. But luckily I do live less than 40 miles from the main VAMC in Tucson.

It is giving veterans more access to care with the caveat that you must meet certain requirements.

The VA is also already trying to kill the program.
