There currently is NO PROVEN drug; however, there are drugs that have been used for other things and have been approved for use if used under doctors' direction. If you were going to die, would you want someone to try an off label use of a medication?

How stupid do you have to be to use a medicine that appears to increase the mortality rate?

Looking at the paper on this study, they were using it only on worst case patients, including patients already on ventilators. Been around that enough to know that being on a ventilator means your body is shutting down and they are trying extreme measures to keep you alive. The studies from France and some smaller ones here, the patients were in the beginning/milder stages of Covid 19 and the Plaquenil was used to keep the Auto Immune system from over reacting, a Cytokine storm is the term they use (this happens in Flu Patients too). Since one of the already prescribed used of Plaquenil is as an anti inflammatory for Rheumatism patients for the same reason, and Lupus patients, and has anti viral properties and a low toxicity, I'm not sure why there is resistance to using it.
