VA secretary: Disney doesn't measure wait times, so why should VA?

Uh, maybe because the VA is obligated by law to deliver promised health care in a timely manner to sick veterans rather than thrill rides on a fake Matterhorn to anyone who pays $100+ per person for the experience? Are we all living on the same planet here?
REPORT: "When you got to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? Or what's important? What's important is, what's your satisfaction with the experience?" McDonald said Monday during a Christian Science Monitor breakfast with reporters. "And what I would like to move to, eventually, is that kind of measure." McDonald's comments angered House Speaker Paul Ryan, who tweeted out Monday afternoon, "This is not make-believe, Mr. Secretary. Veterans have died waiting in those lines."

This scares me. I'll retire in less than a year and have to deal with the VA regularly for the rest of my life. If this man, who was chosen to fix this very issue, claims we should look at the issue from a Disney point of view, I think he should be replaced..... now. I did, however, appreciate Disney's response to the comparison. Maybe we should hire Disney to manage the VA. At the very least, the wait times would be fun.

This is a really good example of my overall experience with the VA; they commit to excellence, settle for mediocrity and then offer nonsense for excuses. This is the attitude and mindset of 70% of the employees I've encountered at the VA.
This man needs to answer for this.
Preferably, no Oversight Committee investigation and straight to unemployment.
The question "How can the VA be fixed?" is constantly asked. Here is an opportunity for the beginning of the solution. Loudly and publicly terminate the Secretery.

I find this is statement offensive, disrespectful and down right disgusting. How dare this person hold this job let alone be allowed to say such a thing about the people who have written blank checks to this nation. How dare you. Who the hell do you think you are. My grandfather served in WWII, my father in Vietnam, my wife served in the War on Terror and I have five combat deployments including both invasions in the War On Terror. You need to resign Now and go work for Disney! Scumbag.
