This is an important issue since it encompasses 2 important things, the right to privacy and the need for good medical care. I, for one, would not opt out since information not shared could end up with either the wrong diagnosis or the wrong treatment. Sharing records can reduce delays, duplications, risks, errors and costs. I want the best treatment possible as quickly as possible. To me, the veteran should be able to have control of what is released rather than blocking all and thereby keep critical information out of the process
