So the solution to gun violence is to take away all guns except for the government's so that four police can wait outside the school while I sit helpless and unable to defend myself as a law abiding citizen.
Gun control must work because illegal drugs no longer exist in this country, criminals would never get a gun on their own, it's like everyone in this country has forgotten the 18th amendment (in case you didn't know prohibition of alcohol gave us the crime lords Al Capone and his type in the early part of last century) It cause a massive spike in crime, which was nearly immediately gone when the 18th was repealed and the crime lords revenue stream dried up.

I wonder what district this guy comes from, and if he's thought through the implications on his political career that making anti-gun statements can have on it. Maybe he's decided to become a Democrat. I guess we'll see in the next election (probably in the primaries) whether this guy has enough traction in his district to weather this one out.

He covers Florida's 18th Congressional District which is on the east coast from just south of Vero Beach to the North side of Palm Beach. A fairly rural area not overrun with folks from the North East that like gun control. Not sure how his constituents will feel about this position, probably not good.

Sgt John Steinmeier - It would seem rash of him to commit himself in possible opposition to the view of his district.

The first "action" in gun law reform should be the repeal of the most insane, perverse law dreamed up by the gun-grabbers.
Frankly, the only purpose I can see in the "Gun Free School Zone Act" (GFSZA) is to assure the safety of a homicidal maniac for the period of time he spends slaughtering children and teachers.
It was apparently intended originally as a law to harass lawful gun owners and CCW holders by making them criminals if they lawfully possesed a gun in a school zone (see the school map of San Francisco), but repeated attacks and mass-murders of our children reveal the (at best) "unintended consequences" of that harassment law.
The fact that the gun-grabbers use these attacks to fuel their demagoguery is a clear indication that they now fully accept that slaughter of the innocents, caused by their "gun owner harassment law", even if it was not part of their plan from the start.
The slaughter of those children is only a tool for them to advance their agenda. They try to blame "lax gun laws", "assault weapons", "the NRA", for the blood that is on their hands. They refuse to consider the repeal of that GFSZA, because it serves their purpose so well. They implicitly accept any "unintended consequence" of the perverse and deadly GFSZA they pushed through under the guise of "school safety", and instead exploit the death and horror they have caused, while blaming innocent gun-owners.

These “forbidden areas” of otherwise lawful gun possession in San Francisco would follow much the same pattern in any city. Note that it is not recording areas within 1,000 feet of a school ZONE, but apparently only the school building.

Chief, they have no interest in actually doing anything, they just want to appear to do something without doing their jobs or thinking.
