Just a tragic story all around. No good outcomes for anyone. It sounds like a downward spiral that went to its likely conclusion without an intervention to stop it.

Same here. Too bad she wasn't shot to death, like her faithful dog was, at her hands.

I always have sympathy for a veteran who commits suicide, especially when they suffer service related PTSD and mental illness related to their service.

That doesn't excuse what she did and she deserved to have consequences, but she's still a suffering veteran and we apparently couldn't help her.

Tragic all around. We need to find a way to prevent people from falling through the cracks but I am mad at the boyfriend.
